ELSAH, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field team competed at the American Midwest Conference Indoor Championship on Saturday at Principia College. The Hornets finished fourth with 66 points.

Freshman sprinter Emmanuel Bonsu recorded a personal best in the 60-meter semi-finals with a time of 6.97 to place first. In the finals, Bonsu bested his 6.97 with a 6.93 to win the conference in the 60. Bonsu placed second in the 200-meters with a personal best time of 22.79.

Sophomore sprinter Detroit Walker recorded a personal best in the 60 with a time of 7.47. Walker recorded a first place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.58. Walker also completed the 200 in 25.87.

Sophomore Jacobi Green recorded a second place finish in the shot put with a personal best throw of 14.36 meters (47-1.50). Green finished fifth in the long jump with a personal best leap of 5.38 meters (17-8). Green also recorded a personal best in the weight throw with a throw of 13.42 meters (44-0.50).

Freshman thrower Jabbar Granberry recorded a fourth place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 14.68 meters (48-2) and a seventh place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.03 meters (42-9).

Junior sprinter Caleb Carter recorded a personal best in the 400-meters with a time of 55.73. Carter also ran the 200 in a time of 25.23.

Junior thrower Sherodd Tate recorded a personal best and fourth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.82 meters (45-4.25) and a personal best 13.71 meters (44-11.75) in the weight throw to finish seventh.

Freshman sprinter John Griffin ran a personal best 53.93 in the 400-meters to finish fifth. Griffin completed the 600-meters in 1:42.00.

Freshman sprinter Jalen Mcghee ran a personal best 10.22 in the 60-meter hurdles to finish fourth. Mcghee ran a personal best 26.68 in the 200-meters. Mcghee also ran the 400 in a time of 1:00.77.

Freshman thrower Aaron Beasley recorded a throw of 11.98 meters (39-3.75) in the shot put.

Junior sprinter Aidan Smith recorded a personal best in the 400-meters with a time of 1:00.76.Â

Sophomore mid-distance David Robinson recorded a time of 1:01.81 in the 400 and 2:25.94 in the 800-meters.

Freshman sprinter Keon Johnson recorded personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles (11.74), 200-meters (27.32) and the 400 (1:03.22)

The team of Bonsu, Smith, Griffin and Carter recorded a time of 3:44.64 in the 4x400 to finish fifth.

The top three finishers in each event earn all-conference honors.

The Hornets return to the track on Saturday, February 28th at a last chance meet.
