ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference released the names of the women's basketball offensive and defensive players of the week for February 23rd.
For the third time this season, sophomore guard
Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) and senior forward
J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) were named the offensive and defensive players of the week.
Montgomery was named offensive player of the week on December 1st and December 15th. Jordan was named defensive player of December 1st and February 9th.
Montgomery scored a career-high 33 points against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy and 24 points against Cottey in two wins. Montgomery averaged 28.5 points per game, added two assists, went 21-43 (48.8%) from the field and 13-14 (92.8%) from the free throw line to win the offensive player of the week.
Jordan recorded five defensive rebounds, seven blocks and five steals across two games to win the defensive player of the week.
