SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball fell 76-42 to #2 seed Williams Baptist University in the quarterfinal of the American Midwest Conference tournament hosted by Mission University. With the loss, the Lady Hornets finish the season 9-16 while the Lady Eagles improve to 23-4.

The Lady Eagles started the game on a 13-0 run. Sophomore forward Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) got the Lady Hornets on the board with a layup. A free throw from Davis cut the deficit to 13-3. A 6-0 Lady Eagles run extended their lead to 19-3. A layup from junior forward Janiya Jones (Jackson, Tenn.) cut the deficit to 19-5 going into the second quarter.

An 18-0 run from the Lady Eagles over the first 9:26 of the second quarter extended the lead 37-5. A jumper from Jones cut the deficit to 37-7 before the Lady Eagles held a 38-7 lead at halftime.

A three from senior forward J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) cut the deficit to 40-10. A three from sophomore guard Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) cut the deficit to 42-13. A layup from Jordan cut the Lady Eagles lead to 48-15. A jumper from Montgomery cut the deficit to 51-17. A layup from senior forward Jayla Dixon (Chicago, Ill.) cut the deficit to 52-19. A free throw from Dixon cut the deficit to 54-20. The Lady Eagles held a 60-20 lead after three quarters.

A jumper from sophomore forward Armani Bingham (St. Louis, Mo./Clyde C. Miller) and a three from Montgomery cut the deficit to 65-25. Two free throws from senior guard Cailynn Dilosa (Gary, Ind./Merriville) cut the deficit to 67-27. Two free throws from Davis cut the deficit to 70-30. A layup from Montgomery cut the deficit to 72-33. A three from sophomore guard Janiya Brown (St. Louis, Mo./Jennings) cut the Lady Eagles lead to 74-36. A four point play from Montgomery cut the deficit to 76-40. A layup from Montgomery cut the deficit to 76-42.

Montgomery led the way with 17 points all of which were scored in the second half. Dixon and senior forward Marchi Hunter (Menifee, Calif./Vista del Lago) recorded seven rebounds apiece. Jones, Jordan and Davis all had two assists. Hunter recorded one block. Montgomery, Jordan and Hunter all had two steals.

The Lady Hornets went 14-58 (24.1%) from the field, 5-15 (33.3%) from three and 9-15 (60.0%) from the free throw line.Â
