WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell 18-0 in game one and 14-0 in game two against Williams Baptist on Friday afternoon. With the losses, the Lady Hornets fall to 2-22 on the season and 1-15 in American Midwest Conference play while the Lady Eagles improve to 28-10 on the season and 7-1 in AMC play.

Game 1:
Junior second baseman Rakiara Bogon (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Mineral Area College) led off with a single and would advance to second on a sacrifice bunt, but the Lady Hornets were unable to get Bogan home.

The Lady Eagles scored four runs in the first. Sophomore catcher Brianna Huff (Columbus, Ohio/Private Tree of Life Christian College Preparatory High School) tried to start a two-out rally in the second as the Lady Hornets were unable to score. The Lady Eagles scored two runs in each of the second and third innings to take an 8-0 lead after three innings of play. Junior utility player A'Kiayah Scales (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area College) singled to start the fourth.

The Lady Eagles scored 10 runs in the fourth inning.

Game 2:
The Lady Eagles scored four runs in the first. Junior outfielder Karmen Daniels (St. Louis, Mo./Fontbonne University) and Huff both reached on singles in the second as the Lady Hornets were unable to score. The Lady Eagles scored four runs in the second and two in the third to take a 10-0 lead.

Scales and freshman infielder Crystal McFerren (St. Louis, Mo./Fort Zumwalt North High School) singled in the fourth, but the Lady Eagles were able to keep the Lady Hornets off the board. The Lady Eagles added four more runs in the fourth.

Scales, Daniels, McFerren and Huff all recorded a hit.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Saturday, April 11th at Crowley's Ridge in Paragould, Ark at 12 and 2 pm.
