PARAGOULD, Ark. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell 10-2 in game one and 18-1 in game two against Crowley's Ridge on Saturday afternoon. With the losses, the Lady Hornets fall to 2-24 on the season and 1-17 in American Midwest Conference play while the Pioneers improve to 4-32 on the season and 3-7 in AMC play.

Game 1:
The Pioneers scored one run in the first. Junior second baseman Rakiara Bogan (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Mineral Area College) singled with one out. Junior utility player A'Kiayah Scales (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area College) doubled to left center to score Bogan to tie the game at one. Senior outfielder Noemi Tudon (Houston, Texas/Waldorf University) reached on an error to score Scales to make it 2-1 Lady Hornets.

The Pioneers scored one run in the third to tie the game at two. The Pioneers scored four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Bogan led the way with two hits while Scales and senior shortstop Juanesha Washington (St. Louis, Mo./Carnahan High School) added one hit. Scales had one run batted in.

Game 2:
The Pioneers scored six runs in the bottom of the first.

Junior outfielder Karmen Daniels (St. Louis, Mo./Fontbonne University) singled down the left field line and reached second on a sacrifice bunt. Sophomore infielder Jaida Phillips (Saint Ann, Mo./Pattonville High School) doubled to left to score Daniels.

The Pioneers scored six in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth.

Bogan, Tudon, Daniels and Phillips all had a hit and Phillips had one run batted in.

The Lady Hornets return to action on Friday, April 17th against Peru State at Stars Park at 2 and 4 pm.
