EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field teams competed at the Cougar Classic hosted by SIUE on Friday and Saturday.

Freshman sprinter Emmanuel Bonsu finished fifth in the 100-meters in a personal best time of 10.70. Bonsu also ran a time of 21.86 in the 200-meters to finish seventh,

Freshman thrower Jabbar Granberry finished seventh in the discus with a personal best throw of 42.43 meters (139-2). Granberry finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 13.37 meters (43-10.5).

Junior sprinter Caleb Carter ran a time of 52.52 in the 400-meters and a personal best time of 23.49 in the 200.

Junior thrower Sherodd Tate recorded a throw of 43.56 meters (142-11) in the hammer throw.

Sophomore sprinter Detroit Walker recorded a time of 15.83 in the 110-meter hurdles and a time of 1:08.26 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Sophomore sprinter Umar Lawson (Sumter, S.C./Voorhees University) ran a personal best time of 24.88 in the 200-meters. Lawson recorded a personal best in the high jump with a height of 1.78 meters (5-10). Lawson also recorded a jump of 5.87 meters (19-3.25) in the long jump.

Junior sprinter Aidan Smith recorded a personal best time of 57.82 in the 400-meters.

Freshman thrower Aaron Beasley recorded a throw of 35.26 meters (115-8) in the javelin and a throw of 11.81 meters (38-9) in the shot put.

Freshman mid-distance John Griffin ran a personal best 2:04.06 in the 800-meters.

The team of Bonsu, Carter, Griffin and Walker ran the 4x100 meter relay in 44.05.Â

The team of Griffin, Carter, Bonsu and Smith ran a time of 3:34.37 in the 4x400 meter relay.

The Hornets return to action next Saturday, April 18th at 10 am at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Culver-Stockton.
