CANTON, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Culver-Stockton on Saturday.

Sophomore thrower Jacobi Green set a new school record and personal best while winning the javelin with a throw of 44.72 meters (146-9). Green was second in the discus with a personal best throw of 43.88 meters (144-3). Green recorded a personal best in the hammer throw with a throw of 36.49 meters (119-9). Green also recorded a throw of 12.55 meters (41-2.25) in the shot put.

Freshman sprinter Emmanuel Bonsu finished seventh in the 100-meters in a time of 10.94. Bonsu also ran the 200 in 22.28 to finish eighth.

Freshman sprinter John Griffin recorded a personal best time of 11.66 in the 100 and a personal best 52.27 in the 400-meters. Griffin also recorded a time of 24.06 in the 200.

Freshman thrower Syain Washington recorded a personal best throw of 20.15 meters (66-1) in the discus and a personal best throw of 30.16 meters (98-11) in the hammer throw.

Freshman sprinter Amyla Meriweather recorded a personal best time of 29.82 in the 200 and a personal best time of 1:06.84 in the 400.

Junior thrower Sherodd Tate recorded a throw of 39.27 meters (128-10) in the discus. Tate recorded a throw of 39.39 meters (129-3) in the hammer throw. Tate also recorded a throw of 12.60 meters (41-4.25) in the shot put.

Sophomore sprinter Detroit Walker recorded a personal best time of 15.06 in the 110-meter hurdles.

Sophomore sprinter Umar Lawson recorded a personal best in the high jump with a height of 1.81 meters (5-11.25). Lawson also recorded a personal best in the long jump with a jump of 6.35 meters (20-10). Lawson recorded his third personal best in the triple jump with a leap of 11.80 meters (38-8.75).

Senior thrower Ramaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Calif./Hoover High School) recorded a personal best throw of 27.19 meters (89-2) in the discus and a personal best throw of 36.31 meters (119-1) in the hammer throw.

Freshman sprinter Tijaria Anthony recorded a time of 27.54 in the 200. Anthony recorded a jump of 4.87 meters (15-11.75) in the long jump. Anthony recorded a personal best in the triple jump with a leap of 10.15 meters (33-3.75).

Freshman sprinter Nyla Richardson-Myles tied for seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.32 meters (4-4).

Freshman thrower Jabbar Granberry recorded a throw of 40.27 meters (132-1) in the discus. Granberry recorded a throw of 12.60 meters (41-4.25) in the shot put and a throw of 44.14 meters (144-10) in the hammer throw. Granberry finished ninth in discus, sixth in shot put and eighth in the hammer.

Freshman thrower Aaron Beasley recorded a throw of 12.20 meters (40-0.5) in the shot put.

The team of Walker, Bonsu, Griffin and junior sprinter Caleb Carter made up the men's 4x100 meter relay team that finished ninth in a time of 44.55.

The Hornets return to action on Wednesday, April 29th for the American Midwest Conference Outdoor Conference meet at SIUE in Edwardsville, Ill.
