JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer fell 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln University of Missouri. With the loss, the Lady Hornets are 2-2 on the season while the Blue Tigers are 1-1 on the season.

The Blue Tigers would find the back of the net in the third minute to take a 1-0 lead. Junior forward Naomi Mangiapane (Solingen, Germany/Western Iowa Tech CC) would have a chance in both the 17th and 23rd minutes to tie the game as both shots were stopped by the keeper of the Blue Tigers. The Blue Tigers would hold a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Junior forward Laura Bordiga (Valdaone, Italy/Liceo Musicale Bonporti/Monroe College/Pratt CC) would find the equalizer for the Lady Hornets in the 51st minute. Goalkeeper Genesis Rhodes (St. Louis, Mo./Fontbonne University/Webster University) would keep the score at 1-1 with a save in the 56th minute. Rhodes would make saves in the 68th and 69th minutes to keep the score tied. The Blue Tigers would score in the 75th and 78th to take a 3-1 lead. Rhodes kept the Lady Hornets in the game with two more saves in the 78th and 83rd minutes. Junior defender Emma Noelle Rolfes (Bielefeld, Germany/Hawkeye CC) would strike for the Lady Hornets in the 86th minute off of the assist from junior midfielder Camille Belem Negromonte (Recife, Brazil/Western Iowa Tech CC) to cut the deficit to 3-2. 

Rhodes would make seven saves in goal for the Lady Hornets.

The Blue Tigers held a 16-4 advantage in shots, 10-4 in shots on goal and 5-1 in corner kicks.

The Lady Hornets return to action on Wednesday, September 2nd at 2 pm at Truman State in Kirksville, Mo.
