KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer fell 8-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Truman State University. With the loss, the Lady Hornets are 2-3 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 1-1-1 on the season.

Goalkeeper Kheilani Alexander (Dallas, Texas/Life High School Waxahachie) would keep the Bulldogs off the board in the ninth and 14th minutes. Junior forward Laura Bordiga (Valdaone, Italy/Liceo Musicale Bonporti/Monroe College/Pratt CC) would have her shot saved in the 25th and 26th minute. The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute on an own goal.Â

Junior midfielder Anna Beatriz Mourao Sousa (Sao Luis, Maranhao, Brazil/Western Iowa Tech CC) was denied a goal in the 28th minute. Alexander would keep it 1-0 as she would stop a penalty attempt. The Bulldogs extended their lead to 2-0 in the 37th minute. The Bulldogs added a goal in 38th and 44th minutes to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.

The Bulldogs extended the lead to 5-0 just 40 seconds into the second half. The Bulldogs made it 6-0 in the 49th minute. Senior forward Mikai Neal (St. Louis, Mo./Cardinal Ritter College Prep) had her shot saved in the 53rd minute. The Bulldogs scored in the 55th minute to extend the lead. Mourao Sousa was denied a goal in the 70th minute. Truman scored in the 79th minute to conclude the scoring. Â

The Bulldogs held a 21-6 advantage in shots, 13-6 in shots on goal and 1-0 in corner kicks.
