COLUMBUS, Ind. - Harris-Stowe State University men's soccer picked up a 3-0 win at Indiana University Columbus on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Hornets are 4-2-1 on the season while the Crimson Pride are 2-4 on the season.
The Hornets created numerous chances early in the match while controlling most of the shots attempts for the first 24 minutes. Freshman defender Miller Arm (Hertfordshire, England/Borehamwood Pase Academy) gave the Hornets a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute off the assist from senior midfielder Antonio Bilancieri (Roccadaspide, Italy/Ranger College). Junior forward Pedro Mendonca Santos (Curitiba, Brazil/Seward County CC) was unable to extend the lead in the 45th minute as his shot was stopped.
Senior forward Adefolarin Adigun (Colchester, England/Moulsham High School) extended the lead to 2-0 in the 47th minute. Adigun would strike again in the 56th minute to make it 3-0 Hornets. Senior goalkeeper Louis Noisiez (Vred, France/Institut d'Anchin) kept the Crimson Pride off the board with his lone save of the night in the 75th minute.
The Hornets held a 10-5 advantage in shots and 5-1 in shots on goal. The Crimson Pride held a 7-6 advantage in corners.
The Hornets return to action on Saturday, September 19th at 11 am against East Central College in an exhibition at Hornets Field. The next regular season match for the Hornets is Wednesday, September 23rd at 2:30 pm against Judson University in Elgin, Ill.
