ST. LOUIS, Mo. – This afternoon the Harris-Stowe State University volleyball team was back in action when they traveled to Missouri Baptist University to take on the Trojans in a nonconference matchup. The Hornets were defeated by the Trojans in three straight sets (10-25, 12-25, 2-25) to fall to 1-12 on the season. With the win, the Spartans improve to 18-2 on the year.
Harris-Stowe had a tough time getting anything going in this match as they were held to just nine kills over three sets. They were held to three kills in the first set, four kills in the second set, and two kills in the third set while recording an attacking percentage of -0.123.
Kyanae Toombs led the way offensively as she finished with a team high four kills. In addition to Toombs,
Junoria Worthy finished with a team high six digs, and
Valorie Walker finished with a team high seven assists to round out the top performers for the Hornets.
This marks the end of the Harris-Stowe volleyball regular season. They have qualified for the AMC Women's Volleyball Championships and will wait to see who they play after this weekends games.]
