BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Harris-Stowe State University men's soccer team was back in action this afternoon when they traveled to Batesville, Arkansas, to take on the Lyon (Ark.) College Scots in an AMC matchup. The Hornets were defeated by the Scots by a final score of 4-0 to fall to 1-5-1 on the season and 0-3-1 in the AMC. With the win, Lyon improves to 6-4-1 on the year and 5-2 in the AMC.
It did not take long for the Scots to get on the board in this one as they scored eight minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Hornets picked it up as the half progressed but had a tough time getting anything going throughout the half as the game remained 1-0 at the break.
The Scots controlled the tempo to start the second half and were able to score 10 minutes into the period to take a 2-0 advantage. They were able to score two more goals late in the game and kept the Hornets out of the back of the net to solidify the 4-0 win.
Nicholas Morales (0-5-1) was in goal for the Hornets as he recorded five saves in the game.
This marks the end of the regular season for the Harris-Stowe State University men's soccer team. They have qualified for the AMC Men's Soccer Championships and will travel to William Woods (Mo.) University on Wednesday, April 7
th at 6 p.m.
