Hornets Sweep Lady Eagles 3-0 on the Road

ST. LOUIS – Head Coach Brittany Stewart and the Hornets are on a hot streak as they picked up another conference win on the road, defeating the Williams Baptist Lady Eagles 3-0.

With the Lady Eagles scoring first in the opening set, the Hornets had to turn up the heat in order to keep their streak alive and they did just that. In taking the first set 25-19, Harris-Stowe left little doubt that they were there to handle business.


Statistically, the Hornets were an unconquerable force. The only category Williams Baptist led in was blocks, where they tallied eight to Harris-Stowe's three. In points,
HSSU outpaced WBU 49.0 to 32.0. Kills were the same with the Hornets accumulating 34 to 21. Aces was a runaway category for HSSU as they landed 12 to WBC's three. Assists was another blazing victory for the Hornets as they put up 34 to 31. Finally, Harris-Stowe dug deep for 48 digs while holding Williams Baptist to 37.

Ariel Stroud paced the team with nine kills, while A'nyla Watson and Jayden Sortor led the team with two blocks and Ware had one.Queen Patterson chipped in three and one respectively. Nickeal Clark and Watson recorded six aces, Mallorie contributed seven each.

A'Nia Ware paced the team with 31 assists while Clark dug down deep for 19 digs.
