ST. LOUIS – With a stunning 3-1 victory over the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange University, the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets' season will continue.
Only 1:25 into the contest and Bruno Conceicao scored the first goal for HSSU. HLU returned the goal at 11:17 when Jaume Garcia was able to angle the ball just right to score. With the score tied at one, Harris-Stowe's Conceicao scored again to give the Hornets a one-point advantage entering the halftime break.
In the final 45-minutes, Harris-Stowe's Haimar Garcia scored the only goal, lifting the Hornets to 3-1.
HSSU's goalkeeper recorded three saves while Samuel-Ben Elfner recorded four for the Trojans.
Harris-Stowe will travel to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to face #1 Williams Baptist on Tuesday, November 8th at 1:00 pm.
