ST. LOUIS - The Harris-Stowe women's basketball suffered a tough 69-41 loss against the Stars of Stephens College.
The opening two quarters were sluggish for the Hornets, however with sheer will and determination, the ladies were able to rally back into the contest. The third period saw Harris-Stowe outpace the Stars 15-12. In the fourth, SC extended their lead to clinch the victory.
Destiney Amaefula scored 13-points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Taia Smith tallied nine-points, nine rebounds and two assists. Keuna Cummings and Morgan Nettles each finished with six-points for the Hornets. Samara Swire added four-points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Brooke Peters paced the Stars with 15-points.
Harris-Stowe will be back in action on Saturday, January 21st at 1:00 pm, when the team hosts the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange University in the Emerson Performance Center.
