ST. LOUIS - The Harris-Stowe women's basketball team hosted the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange University in a contest for the books and the Hornets escaped with a 63-57 victory.
HSSU took control of the opening ten, however, the second quarter, the teams tied 14-points each, with the Hornets taking a two-point advantage, entering the break. In the second half, the Trojans took the third, 15-14 and HSSU sealed the deal with a 19-17 forth.
Harris-Stowe's victory was a definite team effort as several Hornets scored double-digits. Kya Gordon led the team with 15, Destiney Amaefula and Samara Swire scored 13 and 12, respectively. Gordan, Taia Smith and Keuna Cummungs each pulled down five rebounds for the Hornets.
