ST. LOUIS – In their home contest against the Scots of Lyon College, the Hornets men's basketball team were able to escape with the win, 69-67.
After the Scots jumped out to a commanding lead, the Hornets hustled their way back into the contest, to enter the break up 39-35. The second half saw the Scots outpace Harris-Stowe 32-30, however it was not enough to force overtime nor could they take the victory.
Patrick Evans paced the team with 16-points, four assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block. Jamarric Hammond tallied 13-points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. Ken Martin added 10-points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist, while Alex Nunnally finished with nine-points, 13 rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Israel Palmer paced the Scots with 25-points.
Harris-Stowe will return to action on Saturday, February 2nd at 7:30 pm, when the team hosts the Eagles of Williams Baptist College in the Emerson Performance Center.
