CONWAY, Ark. - Harris-Stowe State University men's soccer picked up a 2-1 against Central Baptist College Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Hornets improve to 3-5-4 on the season and 1-2 in American Midwest Conference play while the Mustangs fall to 4-8 on the season and 1-1 in AMC play.
The Hornets would strike first with a goal in the 11th minute from junior midfielder
Leonardo Mori (Castel d'Azzano, Italy/Liceo Galileo Galilei). Mori would add a second goal via a penalty kick in the 24th minute to put the Hornets up 2-0.
The Mustangs would cut the lead to 2-1 in the 44th minute. The Hornets would hold the lead into halftime and throughout the second half.
The Hornets would hold a 9-5 advantage in shots, 6-1 in shots on goal and 4-1 in corner kicks.
The Hornets return to action on Tuesday, October 15th at Hornets Field on the campus of Harris-Stowe State University at 3 pm against Hannibal-LaGrange University.
