NEVADA, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's volleyball fell in three sets (19-25,19-25,14-25) to Cottey College on Friday night. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 4-17 on the season and 0-6 in American Midwest Conference play while Cottey improves to 7-15 and 1-4 in AMC play.
The Comets would hold a 10-8 lead before a 3-0 run to extend the lead to five. The Lady Hornets would go on a 5-3 run to cut the deficit to 16-13. The Comets would go on a 5-0 run to push the lead to 21-13 before the Lady Hornets would go on a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 21-18. The Comets would close on a 4-1 run to take set one.
In set two, the Lady Hornets would hold a 12-7 lead before the next six points were split at three leaving Harris-Stowe up 15-10. A 6-1 Comets run tied the set at 16. Harris-Stowe would take a 19-16 lead before the Comets would go on a 9-0 run to take set two.
In set three, the Comets would hold a 6-1 lead before a 4-2 run by the Lady Hornets would cut the lead to 8-5 in favor of the Comets. A 5-1 run by the Comets would extend the lead to seven at 13-6. After a 3-0 run to cut the lead to 13-9 the Comets would go on a 12-5 run to close out set three.

Trinity Edison (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Central) would record seven kills. Sophomore outside hitter
Kyla McReynolds (O'Fallon, Ill./Althoff Catholic) would record a career-high 18 digs. Senior middle hitter
Jayden Sortor (Sherman, Ill./Parkland College) would record six solo blocks. Sophomore setter
Isa Smith (Little Rock, Ark./Joe T. Robinson) would record 12 assists.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Tuesday, October 22nd at 6 pm against (RV) Columbia College at Emerson Performance Center.
