ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball falls 75-61 to Central Baptist College on Saturday afternoon at Emerson Performance Center. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 2-7 on the season and 1-5 in American Midwest Conference play while the Lady Mustangs improve to 5-5 on the season and 3-3 in AMC play.

Samara Swire (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) would get the Lady Hornets on the board and cut the deficit to 5-2. After layups from freshman forward
Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) and junior guard
Cailynn Dilosa (Gary, Ind./Merriville) the deficit was trimmed to 7-6. A jumper from freshman guard
Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) would cut the Lady Mustangs lead to 10-8. Senior forward
J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) would cut the deficit to 14-10. The Lady Mustangs would hold a 16-14 lead after one quarter of play.
A three from Dilosa would give the Lady Hornets their first lead of the game at 17-16. A 5-2 run by the Lady Mustangs would put them back on top 21-19. Senior forward
Toree Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) would tie the game with at 21 with two free throws. A layup from Dilosa would cut the deficit to 31-27. After back-to-back threes from Dilosa the Lady Mustangs lead was 34-33 before the Lady Mustangs would take a 36-33 lead into the half.
A 9-3 run by the Lady Mustangs would extend their lead to 45-36 before a three from Dilosa cut it to 45-39. A layup from Jordan would cut the deficit to 46-41 before a Lady Mustangs 10-0 run to push their lead to 56-41. A jumper from senior guard
Lauryn Evans (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and a layup from Dilosa would cut the Lady Mustangs lead to 56-45 going to the fourth quarter.
After jumpers from Montgomery and Swire cut the deficit to 58-49 a 7-0 run by the Lady Mustangs pushed the lead to 65-49. Dilosa would cut the lead to 71-61 with a layup with 1:44 to play before the Lady Mustangs would close out the 75-61 win.
Dilosa had a game-high 28 points while Jordan added 15 points. Jordan added seven rebounds, four blocks and four steals. Montgomery added four assists. The Lady Hornets went 25-63 (39.7%) from the field, 4-19 (21.1%) from three and 7-10 (70%) at the free throw line.
The Lady Hornets are back in action on Tuesday, December 17th at 6 pm at Principia College in Elsah, Ill.
