ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University Hornets baseball fell to Williams Baptist University Eagles on Friday afternoon in both games of the doubleheader at Hornets Field. The Eagles took game one 14-0 and game two 21-2. The Hornets fall to 1-17 and 0-8 in the American Midwest Confernce while the Eagles improve to 20-9 and 4-4 in AMC play.
The Eagles would strike in the first inning as they would score seven runs in the first with two outs. The Eagles would add four more in the third, one in the sixth and two in the seventh. Junior third baseman
Tyson Dent (Memphis, Tenn.) would record two hits. Junior outfielder
Dwayne Daggs (St. Louis, Mo.) sophomore infielder Cameron Pratt (Anderson, Ind.), junior outfielder
Skywalker Mann (Lee Summit, Mo.), senior catcher
Austin Toler (Highland, Ill./Highland) and senior infielder
Devin Rader (Dallas, Texas/Cedar Hill) all recorded a hit in game one.
The Eagles would once again strike in the first with six runs, they would tack on four in the second, one in the third and four in the fourth. Senior first baseman
Hunter Miller (Chesterfield, Mo./Upper Iowa University) would deliver an RBI double to score Pratt in the bottom of the fourth.
The Eagles would score five more in the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth Pratt would single in Rader. The Eagles would score one more run in the sixth inning to complete the scoring.
The Hornets are back in action on Saturday, March 30th at noon against the Eagles at Hornets Field to conclude the series.
