FENTON, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's soccer earned a 2-2 draw against Brescia University on Tuesday afternoon at Fenton Soccer Park. With the tie, the Hornets go to 2-3-4 on the season while the Bearcats improve to 1-6-2.
In the first half, the Hornets created numerous scoring chances and were unable to find the back of the net and went into the half 0-0 with the Bearcats.
In the second half, senior forward
Janik Buch (Suederbrarup, Germany) would take the pass from junior midfielder
Leonardo Mori (Castel d'Azzano/Liceo Galileo Galilei) before scoring the first goal of the game in the 67th minute to put the Hornets up 1-0. The Bearcats would tie the game in the 72nd minute.
After Mori's shot was saved by the Bearcats keeper, junior midfielder
Matteo Rissato Prado (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Carl Sandburg College) would bury the rebound to put the Hornets back on top 2-1 in the 75th minute.Â
The Bearcats would tie the game in the 90th minute to finish with a 2-2 draw.
The Hornets held a 22-7 advantage in shots, 11-3 in shots on goal and 7-1 in corner kicks.
The Hornets are back in action this Saturday, September 28th at 3 pm as they open American Midwest Conference play against William Woods University. Location is to be determined.
