ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's basketball falls 78-63 to Hannibal-LaGrange on Monday night at Emerson Performance Center. With the loss, the Hornets fall to 1-8 on the season and 0-1 in American Midwest Conference play while the Trojans improve to 5-5 on the season and 1-0 in AMC play.

Nashawn Davis (St. Louis, Mo./Columbia College) gave the Hornets an early 2-0 lead with a layup. Davis would score the first nine points for the Hornets to help them to a 9-5 lead early in the first half. A jumper by sophomore guard
Antonio Trotter (Nashville, Tenn./Williams Baptist University) gave the Hornets an 11-10 lead. A dunk by Davis would extend the lead to 13-10. A free throw by senior forward
Jalen Watson (East St. Louis, Ill./St. Louis Community College) to extend the lead to 16-14. A layup by senior forward
Ty Lampley (Belleville, Ill./Rend Lake Community College) gave the Hornets an 18-16 lead. A three from Davis gave the Hornets a 23-21 lead with under four minutes to play in the first half. A three by junior
Shamar Carter (Inglewood, Calif./Moberly CC) cut the deficit to 32-27 going into halftime.
A jumper by Watson cut the deficit to 32-29 early in the second half. A layup by senior forward
Dimitrije Stojanovic (Nis, Serbia/Bethel University) cut the deficit to 34-31. A layup by Watson cut the deficit to 36-33. A layup by Watson cut it to 41-38 in favor of the Trojans with just over 16 minutes remaining in the game. A dunk by Davis cut the deficit to 44-40. A three by sophomore guard
Umar Lawson (Sumter, S.C./Voorhees University) cut the deficit to 46-45. A three by Carter followed by a three from junior guard
Adolphus Cast (Detroit, Mich./Schoolcraft College) cut the deficit to 54-53 with just under 10 minutes to play. Two free throws by Stojanovic cut the deficit to 58-56. A layup by Lawson cut the Trojans lead to 63-60 with just under five minutes to play. A layup by Carter cut the deficit to 63-62. A 10-0 run by the Trojans pushed their lead to 73-62 and the Trojans would close the game on a 15-1 run to win 78-63.
Davis led the way with 24 points while Carter added 12 points. Carter led the way with 10 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season. Lawson and Davis had three assists each. Stojanovic had two blocks. Davis recorded two steals.
The Hornets went 20-58 (34.5%) from the field 5-20 (25.0%) from three and 18-25 (72.0%) from the free throw line.
The Hornets return to action on Thursday, December 11th at 7:30 pm at Central Baptist University in Conway, Ark.
