ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball falls 58-51 in hard fought game to Missouri Baptist on Tuesday night at Emerson Performance Center. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 6-17 on the season and 5-13 in American Midwest Conference while the Spartans improve to 7-17 on the season and 7-11 in AMC play.

Samara Swire (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) gave the Lady Hornets a 7-5 lead. A 6-0 run by the Spartans gave them an 11-7 lead. A free throw from Dilosa cut it to 11-8. A layup by senior forward
Toree Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) cut the deficit to 13-10. A jumper from Montgomery cut the deficit to 16-12. The Spartans led 18-12 after the first quarter.

J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) tied the game at 18. A 7-2 run by the Spartans put them up 25-20. A jumper from Dilosa cut the Spartans lead to 25-22. A 5-0 run by the Spartans pushed their lead to 30-22. A jumper and free throw from Swire cut the Spartans lead to 30-25. The Spartans held the 30-25 lead at the half.

Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) cut the deficit to 41-32. A layup from Jordan cut the deficit to 41-34. A three from Dilosa cut the deficit 43-37 as the Spartans would hold the lead after three.
Two layups from Montgomery cut the Spartans lead to 45-42. A layup from Davis cut the Spartans lead to 46-44 with 6:00 left in the game. An 8-2 run by the Spartans pushed their lead to 54-46. A three from Swire cut the deficit to five at 54-49. A layup from Jordan cut the deficit to 56-51 before the Spartans recorded the 58-51 win.
Montgomery led the way with 16 points while Dilosa added 15 points. Jordan recorded nine rebounds while Davis added eight. Montgomery recorded five assists. Jordan added four blocks while Dilosa recorded four steals.
The Lady Hornets went 21-64 (32.8%) from the field, 3-13 (23.1%) from three and 6-14 (42.9%) from the free throw line.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Thursday, February 13th at 5:30 pm at Columbia College.
