ALTON, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University baseball fell 14-0 in game one and 9-6 in game two to the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy on Saturday night at Lloyd Hopkins Field. With the losses, the Hornets fall to 2-7 on the season and 0-4 in American Midwest Conference play while the Eutectics improve to 5-8 on the season and 2-4 in AMC play.
In game one, the Eutectics scored one in the first, four in the second, five in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth. Senior outfielder

Malvin Gutierrez (Harlem, New York) and senior first baseman
Stephen Huggins (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) and junior utility player
Sam Britton (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded one hit each.
In game two, the Eutectics would score twice in the bottom of the first. Huggins walked to lead off the top of the second. A double by sophomore catcher
Dima Cornell-Neal (Trumbull, Ct.) made it second and third for the Hornets. A wild pitch would score Huggins and move Cornell-Neal to third. A single from Britton tied the game at two.Â
The Eutectics would take a 7-2 lead after a four run fourth inning. A single by Gutierrez led off the fifth for the Hornets. Senior outfielder
Skywalker Mann (Lee's Summit, Mo.) cut the deficit to 7-4 after a two run homerun. Huggins walked and Cornell-Neal followed it up with a single. Huggins would score on a wild pitch to cut the Eutectics lead to 7-5. Britton was hit by pitch and Tillman walked to load the bases with two outs. A walk to freshman centerfielder
Adrian Martinez would score freshman third baseman
Khalil Smith (Memphis, Tenn.) as he pinch ran for Cornell-Neal.
The Eutectics would score a run in the fifth to make it 8-6 and another run in the sixth to make it 9-6.
Cornell-Neal recorded two hits, while Tillman, Gutierrez, Mann, Britton and sophomore shortstop
Jordan Bradley (St. Louis, Mo.) all recorded a hit.
The Hornets will return to action on Sunday, March 2nd against the Eutectics at 2 and 4 pm at Lloyd Hopkins Field in Alton, Ill.
