CANTON, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's soccer ends in 1-1 draw at Culver-Stockton on Saturday night. With the draw, the Hornets are 1-1-1 on the season while the Wildcats go to 1-0-2 on the season.
The Wildcats would take an early 1-0 lead just seven minutes into the game. Senior forward Mario Garcia De La Fuente (Madrid, Spain/Mid America Christian University) would tie the game with his third goal of the season in the 28th minute off the assist from senior midfielder
Leonardo Mori (Castel d'Azzano, Italy/Liceo Galileo Galilei).
The game would remain tied 1-1 at the half. Junior midfielder
Antonio Bilancieri (Roccadaspide, ItalyRanger College) would denied by the keeper of the Wildcats in the 53rd minute off of a corner kick from Mori. Mori would have a chance in the 66th minute, but the keeper of the Wildcats would turn him away. De La Fuente would be denied his second goal in the 69th minute. Sophomore forward
Jovan Momic (Belgrade, Serbia Kansas Wesleyan University) would be turned away by the Wildcats keeper in the 82nd minute.
The Hornets held a 12-9 advantage in shots, 5-1 in shots on goal. Corner kicks would finish six each side.
The Hornets return to action on Wednesday, September 3rd at 7 pm at Missouri Baptist in Creve Coeur.
