ELSAH, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University scored a season-high four goals in a 4-0 win at Principia College on Tuesday night. With the win, the Hornets improve to 3-4-2 on the season while the Panthers fall to 3-4-1 on the season.
Junior forward
Adefolarin Adigun (Colchester, England/Moulsham High School) would have a chance to open the scoring in the 10th minute as his shot would be saved by the Panthers keeper. Sophomore midfielder
Dusan Drca (Belgrade, Serbia/Hill Community College) would be denied a goal in the 27th minute by the Panthers keeper. Junior midfielder
Antonio Bilancieri (Roccadaspide, Italy/Ranger College) would be denied as his shot would be saved in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, sophomore forward
Jovan Momic (Belgrade, Serbia/Kansas Wesleyan University) would find the back of the net off of the pass from sophomore forward
Samuel Guerrero (Santiago, Chile/South Kent School). Junior goalkeeper
Louis Noisiez (Vred, France/Institut d'Anchin) would keep the Hornets ahead with a save in the 41st minute. The Hornets would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Senior midfielder
Matteo Rissato Prado (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Carl Sandburg College) had a chance to make it 2-0 in the 47th minute as his shot was turned away by the Panthers keeper. In the 50th minute, Guerrero would extend the lead to 2-0 with his second goal of the season. Guerrero would be denied his second goal of the game in the 68th minute. Mario De La Fuente (Madrid, Spain/Mid America Christian University) would be denied a goal by the Panthers keeper before he would bury the rebound for his fifth goal of the season to push the lead to 3-0. Senior forward
Kevin Lawson, II (Ypsilanti, Mich.) would take the pass from senior forward
Kyle Nicholls (Norwich, England/Mineral Area College) and bury his first of the season in the 79th minute to make it 4-0 Hornets.Â
Guerrero would lead the way with one goal and one assist. Noisiez would record one save for a clean sheet.
The Hornets held a 23-6 advantage in shots, 12-1 in shots on goal and 6-4 in corner kicks. Along with the season-high in goals the Hornets also recorded season-highs in shots and shots on goal. The Hornets also tied their season-low in shots allowed and shots allowed on goal.
The Hornets return to action on Saturday, October 4th at 3 pm as they open American Midwest Conference play at Hannibal-LaGrange in Hannibal, Mo.
