ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball fell 84-76 on Thursday night against Williams Baptist University at Emerson Performance Center. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 2-10 on the season and 1-5 in American Midwest Conference play while the Lady Eagles improve to 11-3 on the season and 5-1 in AMC play.

A layup by senior forward J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) tied the game at two early in the first quarter. A layup by junior forward Janiya Jones (Jackson, Tenn.) tied the game at four. Two free throws and a three by sophomore guard Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) and a three by senior guard Cailynn Dilosa (Gary, Ind./Merriville) gave the Lady Hornets a 12-9 lead. A layup by Jones extended the lead to 14-11. The Lady Eagles would use an 11-0 run to take a 22-14 lead. A jumper and layup by Dilosa would cut the deficit to 22-18 going into the second quarter.

A layup by Dilosa cut the deficit to 22-20 early in the second quarter. A layup by Montgomery cut the deficit to 26-22. A jumper from sophomore forward Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) and two free throws from Dilosa cut the Lady Eagles lead to 28-26. A jumper from Jordan cut the deficit to 33-28. A layup from senior Jayla Dixon and a jumper from Montgomery cut the deficit to 38-36 going into halftime.

A layup from Jordan cut the deficit to 40-38 early in the third quarter. An old fashioned three point play and a layup from Jones cut the deficit to 44-43. A layup by Davis cut the Lady Eagles lead to 50-49. A layup by Dixon tied the game at 51. Davis tied the game a 53 with a layup. Both teams would be tied at 59 after three quarters of play.

A layup by Jordan gave the Lady Hornets a 61-59 lead early in the fourth quarter. A three from Montgomery gave the Lady Hornets a 64-63 lead. A layup by Dilosa put the Lady Hornets ahead 70-69. The Lady Eagles would close the game out on a 15-6 run to pick up the 84-76 win.

Montgomery led the way with 25 points while Dilosa added 22. Jordan recorded nine rebounds. Montgomery dished out five assists. Dilosa recorded four steals. Davis and Jordan both had two blocks.

The Lady Hornets went 31-63 (49.2%) from the field, 4-10 (40.0%) from three and 10-11 (90.9%) at the free throw line. The 49.2% from the field and 40.0% from three were both season-highs for the Lady Hornets.
