ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball picked up a 66-40 win on Saturday afternoon against Crowley's Ridge College at Emerson Performance Center. With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 3-10 on the season and 2-5 in American Midwest Conference play while the Pioneers fall to 0-16 on the season and 0-7 in AMC play.

A three from senior guard Cailynn Dilosa (Gary, Ind./Merriville) gave the Lady Hornets a 3-0 lead. The Lady Hornets held the Pioneers scoreless for the first 4 minutes of the game. A three from Dilosa, two free throws from senior forward J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) and a three from sophomore guard Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) extended the Lady Hornets lead to 11-2. A jumper from Jordan, a layup from Montgomery, a three by sophomore guard Janiya Brown (St. Louis, Mo./Jennings), and a three from Montgomery extended the lead to 21-3. A jumper from sophomore forward Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) extended the Lady Hornets lead to 23-5. The Lady Hornets used two 8-0 runs in the first quarter to hold a 23-5 lead after 10 minutes of play.

Two free throws from Dilosa extended the lead to 25-5 early in the second quarter. A jumper from Jordan pushed the lead to 27-7. An old fashioned three point play by Montgomery extended the lead to 33-13 with 2:58 left in the half. The Lady Hornets ended the half with a 10-0 run to hold a 40-13 lead at halftime.

A layup from junior forward Janiya Jones (Jackson, Tenn.) extended the Lady Hornets lead to 42-13 early in the third quarter. A three from Montgomery pushed the lead to 45-17. A 10-0 run by the Pioneers cut the Lady Hornets lead to 45-27. Two free throws and a layup from senior Jayla Dixon extended the lead to 49-27 with 4:07 left in the third quarter. A layup from Dilosa extended the Lady Hornets lead to 51-28. A jumper from Dilosa closed the third quarter with Lady Hornets leading 53-34.Â

A three from Brown gave the Lady Hornets a 56-34 lead early in the fourth quarter. A layup from Dixon, a jumper from Montgomery and a jumper from Brown helped push the lead to 62-34 as a part of the Lady Hornets 9-0 run to start the fourth quarter. The Lady Hornets held the Pioneers scoreless for the first 3:35 of the fourth quarter. A layup by Jordan extended the lead to 64-39. A layup from Dilosa extended the lead to 66-40. The Lady Hornets held the Pioneers scoreless for the last 4:11 of the game.

Montgomery led the way with 18 points while Dilosa added 16, Jordan added 11 and Brown added a career-high eight. Jordan led the way with a game and season-high 13 rebounds. Montgomery recorded a season-high eight assists. Davis, Jordan and senior forward Marchi Hunter (Menifee, Calif./Vista del Lago) all recorded a block. Montgomery, Jordan, Jones and Dixon all recorded two steals.Â

The Lady Hornets went 25-67 (37.3%) from the field, 7-22 (31.8%) from three and 9-11 (81.8%) at the free throw line.Â
