PARAGOULD, Ark. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball picked up a 61-41 win at Crowley's Ridge on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 7-15 on the season and 6-10 in American Midwest Conference play while the Pioneers fall to 0-25 on the season and 0-16 in AMC play.

A jumper from sophomore guard Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central), a layup from senior forward J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) and a jumper from senior guard Cailynn Dilosa (Gary, Ind./Merriville) gave the Lady Hornets an early 6-0 lead. A three and a layup from Montgomery extended the Lady Hornets lead to 11-4. A three from Montgomery, a layup from junior forward Janiya Jones (Jackson, Tenn.), two free throws from sophomore forward Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) and a layup from Jones extended the lead to 20-7 after one quarter of play.Â

Two free throws from Montgomery extended the lead to 22-8 early in the second quarter. Back-to-back jumpers from Montgomery extended the Lady Hornets lead to 26-13. A three from Montgomery and a layup from Dilosa extended the lead to 31-14. A three from sophomore guard Janiya Brown (St. Louis, Mo./Jennings) and a layup from Dilosa extended the lead to 38-19 going into halftime.

A layup from Dilosa gave the Lady Hornets a 40-19 lead early in the third quarter. An 8-0 Pioneers run cut the Lady Hornets lead to 40-27. A layup from Jones extended the lead to 42-27. The Pioneers would use an 8-2 run over the final 6:37 to cut the Lady Hornets lead to 44-35 going into the final 10 minutes.

A layup from Dilosa extended the lead to 46-35 early in the fourth. Back-to-back layups from Jordan and two free throws from Montgomery extended the lead to 52-37. Two free throws from Dilosa and back-to-back layups from Montgomery extended the lead to 58-39. The Lady Hornets would score the final three points of the game and hold the Pioneers scoreless for the final 4:02 for their second wire-to-wire win this week.

Montgomery led the way with a game-high 27 points while Dilosa added 15. Jones recorded a team-high nine rebounds. Dilosa recorded three assists. Jordan recorded a game-high six steals. Senior forward Marchi Hunter (Menifee, Calif./Vista del Lago) recorded two blocks.

The Lady Hornets went 23-60 (38.3%) from the field, 4-18 (22.2%) from three and 11-18 (61.1%) from the free throw line.Â
