ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell 11-2 in game one and won game two 2-0 against Principia College on Saturday afternoon at Stars Park. With the split, the Lady Hornets are 1-3 on the season while the Panthers are 1-1 on the season.

Game 1:
The Panthers would strike first with a run in the top of the first. In the bottom of the first, junior second baseman Rakiara Bogan (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Mineral Area College) doubled to left. A bunt single from senior outfielder Noemi Tudon (Houston, Texas/Waldorf University) advanced Bogan to third. Junior outfielder Karmen Daniels (St. Louis, Mo./Fontbonne University) singled to left to score Bogan. Junior utility player A'Kiayah Scales (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area College) singled to left. The Panthers would get out of the first with the score tied at one.

The Panthers would take a 4-1 lead with a three run top of the second. In the bottom of the third, Daniels would single then steal second. Daniels would move to third after a ground out. Freshman infielder Crystal McFerren (St. Louis, Mo./Fort Zumwalt North High School) singled to left to score Daniels to cut the deficit to 4-2.

The Panthers would score four runs in the fourth and three more in the seventh to take an 11-2 lead.

Bogan would record three hits while Daniels and Scales added two hits. Daniels and McFerren both recorded a run batted in. Bogan would steal two bases while Daniels, Scales and McFerren all had one stolen base.
Game 2:
In the top of the first, junior Symone Abraham (Decatur, Ill./Livingstone College) would record a three up, three down first of what would become history.

In the bottom of the first, Bogan would single. Tudon would move her over to third on a sacrifice bunt. With two outs, Scales reached on an error by the center fielder to score Bogan to make it 1-0 Lady Hornets.

Daniels would make a diving catch in the third to keep the Panthers off the bases through three innings. In the bottom of the third, Tudon singled, Daniels singled. Sophomore catcher Brianna Huff (Columbus, Ohio/Private Tree of Life Christian College Preparatory High School) walked to load the bases with two outs. Abraham would reach on an infield single to shortstop to score Tudon to make it 2-0 Lady Hornets.

Abraham would continue to keep the Panthers off the bases as she threw the first perfect game in Lady Hornets softball history.

Bogan and Tudon would record two hits each while Daniels, Huff and Abraham all recorded a hit. Abraham recorded one run batted in while throwing the perfect game.

The Lady Hornets return to action on March 17th at 2 and 4 pm against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at Affton Athletic Association.
