COLUMBIA, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's basketball fell 93-61 at #16 Columbia College on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Hornets fall to 4-18 on the season and 1-10 in American Midwest Conference play while the Cougars improve to 21-3 and 9-1 in AMC play.

Layups from freshman forward Nashawn Davis (St. Louis, Mo./Columbia College) and sophomore guard Antonio Trotter (Nashville, Tenn./Williams Baptist University) gave the Hornets a 4-2 lead. A layup from senior forward Jalen Watson (East St. Louis, Ill./St. Louis Community College) cut the deficit to 7-6. A jumper from Watson cut the deficit to 9-8. A layup from sophomore guard Umar Lawson (Sumter, S.C./Voorhees University) cut the deficit to 14-11. A 13-0 run by the Cougars extended their lead to 29-12. Two free throws from junior center Dimitrije Stojanovic (Nis, Serbia/Bethel University) cut the deficit to 31-15. Two free throws from Davis cut the Cougars lead to 36-18. A layup from junior guard Adolphus Cast (Detroit, Mich./Schoolcraft College) cut the deficit to 38-20. A layup from Davis cut the deficit to 40-22. The Cougars held a 42-22 lead at halftime.

Davis led the way with 21 points while Stojanovic added 13 off the bench. Davis and senior forward Benjamin Rumanyika (Buckeye, Ariz./Voorhees University) recorded six rebounds apiece. Davis recorded two assists and two steals. Davis, Lawson, Stojanovic and sophomore guard Jason Freeman (Atlanta, Ga./William Woods University) all recorded a block.

The Hornets went 19-57 (33.3%) from the field, 2-15 (13.3%) from three and 21-32 (65.6%) from the free throw line.Â
