NEVADA, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell 14-1 in game one and 18-0 in game two on Saturday afternoon at Cottey College. With the losses, the Lady Hornets fall to 2-14 on the season and 1-7 in American Midwest Conference play while the Comets improve to 19-6 on the season and 2-0 in AMC play.

Game 1:
The Comets would score five runs in the bottom of the first and five in the bottom of the third to hold a 10-0 lead after three innings. Junior utility player A'Kiayah Scales (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area College) would get the Lady Hornets on the board with a solo homerun. The Comets would score four more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Scales and junior second baseman Rakiara Bogan (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Mineral Area College) both recorded two hits while sophomore catcher Brianna Huff (Columbus, Ohio/Private Tree of Life Christian College Preparatory High School) added one hit. Scales had the lone run batted in.

Game 2:
The Comets scored eight runs in the second, six in the third and four in the fourth.Â

Scales recorded two hits in the game while senior outfielder Noemi Tudon (Houston, Texas/Waldorf University) recorded one hit.
