ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's soccer fell 1-0 against Brescia University Tuesday afternoon at Hornets Field. With the loss, the Hornets are 2-2-1 on the season while the Bearcats are 2-3-1 on the season.
The Bearcats would control the first half as they had four corner kicks and three shots with the third shot finding the back of the net off of a corner kick. The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Senior midfielder Antonio Bilancieri (Roccadaspide, Italy/Ranger College) would take an early corner kick in the second half for the Hornets. Bilancieri's corner would find senior defender Brenner Gollaher (Farmington, Mo./Farmington High School) as Gollaher's header would hit the post. Freshman midfielder Victor Samuel (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Colegio e Curso AZ) would have his shot blocked. Bilancieri would have his shot saved as he tried to tie the game in the 82nd minute.
The Hornets held an 8-7 advantage in shots. The Bearcats held a 2-1 advantage in shots on goal and 8-5 in corner kicks.
The Hornets return to action on Saturday, September 12th at 3 pm at Principia College in Elsah, Ill.
