ST. LOUIS – Finishing an intense week, the Hornets defeated the Central Baptist College Mustangs 78-77, in a contest that came down to the final seconds.
The Hornets displayed persistence in both halves, however during the second they displayed a squad that was determined to emerge with the victory. Central Baptist carried a one-point advantage into the locker room, after the opening half. In the second half, Harris-Stowe showed who they were as a team, outscoring the Mustangs 41-39.
Ken Martin finished with 25-points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Alex Nunnally recorded a double-double, 18-points, 13 rebounds, three steals and one assist. Jamarric Hammond tallied seven-points, five assists, three rebounds and one steal. Taj Toney and Breon Mosby each chipped in six-points in the Hornets win.
Harris-Stowe will return to action on January 21st at 3:00 pm, when they host Hannibal-LaGrange University in the Emerson Performance Center.
