ST. LOUIS – The Harris-Stowe State University softball team has been invited to participate in the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Softball Classic, to be held at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Classic will take place March 3-4, 2023.

Head Coach Larry Young stated, "It is truly an honor to be asked to join the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic. Coach Bell left an amazing legacy for us to learn from. This is a great opportunity for our softball program and our university to have this experience with Major League Baseball, Team USA Softball, and all of the colleges and universities that will be participating over the weekend in Oklahoma City, OK. This will be very exciting weekend for us but most of all of the young ladies that will be watching all of these softball games during the weekend."

HSSU will face the #3 nationally ranked, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Friday at 11:30 am and finish the day against McPherson at 4:30 pm. Day two will see the Hornets facing Arkansas Baptist at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
