ST. LOUIS – The Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University fell 9-0 and 17-0 to the Panthers of Claflin University on March 7th. After extensive traveling and playing Benedict the day before, HSSU was unable to muster the energy needed to defeat CU.
Game One
Claflin scored three runs in the first and second innings, one in the fourth and two in the fifth.
HSSU finished with one hit and four errors.
Cindy Sanchez recorded the loss for the Hornets in the pitcher's circle.
Game Two
Both teams went scoreless in the first and second innings, it was in the seventh that Claflin exploded with seven runs. In the fourth, CU scored ten runs to complete scoring for the contest.
Harris-Stowe finished with three hits and two errors.
