Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University baseball fell in the series finale to the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at Stars Park on Sunday afternoon. The Eutectics took the final game of the series 9-4. The Hornets fall to 2-26 on the season and 1-17 in American Midwest Conference play while UHSP improves to 11-25 and 4-14 in AMC play.
The Eutectics would jump out to a 2-0 lead four hitters into the game. The Hornets would cut the lead to 2-1 after one after junior shortstop
Austin Martin (Roxana, Ill.) would lead off the bottom of the first with a double and would score from third after a single by junior third baseman
Tyson Dent (Memphis, Tenn.).Â
Senior catcher
Zach Lopez (Wentzville, Mo.) would start the bottom of the second with a single before sophomore infielder
Cam Pratt (Anderson, Ind.) would single. After a walk to load the bases Dent would record a sacrifice fly that would score junior outfielder
Za'Maree Tillman (Bakersfield, Calif.) from third as Tillman was a courtesy runner for Lopez.Â
The Eutectics would break the 2-2 tie in the sixth with two runs. Senior outfielder
Xavier Fuller (Memphis, Tenn./Middle College) would score on a wild pitch to cut the Eutectis lead to 4-3. The Eutectics would score three in the seventh to push the lead to 7-3. Senior infielder
Devin Rader (Dallas, Texas/Cedar Hill) would record a one out single and advance to second on a wild pitch before Pratt would single him home to cut the lead to 7-4.
The Eutectics would score two more in the ninth to close the scoring.
The Hornets are back in action on Tuesday, April 23rd against Fontbonne University at Shaw Park in Clayton, Mo. with a 7 pm start.
