EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University women's track and field teams competed at the Cougar Classic hosted by SIUE on Friday and Saturday.

 

Freshman sprinter Tijaria Anthony recorded a personal best time of 12.77 in the 100-meters. Anthony recorded a time of 27.32 in the 200-meters. Anthony recorded a jump of 4.90 meters (16-1) in the long jump.

 

Freshman thrower Shyla Reid recorded a throw of 27.57 meters (90-5) in the hammer throw. A throw of 23.05 meters (75-7) in the javelin. A throw of 28.32 meters (92-11) in the discus. Reid placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 11.39 meters (37-4.5).

 

Freshman mid-distance Amyla Meriweather recorded a personal best in the 800-meters with a time of 2:48.55. Meriweather also ran a 1:10.44 in the 400-meters.

 

Freshman thrower Syain Washington recorded a personal best throw of 27.67 meters (90-9) in the hammer throw and a personal best throw of 16.31 meters (53-6) in the discus.

 

Freshman sprinter Sherasade Meghezi (Paris, France) recorded a personal best time of 13.91 in the 100-meters. Megehzi also recorded a time of 29.92 in the 200. Megehzi recorded a jump of 4.46 meters (14-7.75) in the long jump.

 

Sophomore sprinter Emma Auer (Kindberg, Austria/HIB Liebenau) recorded a personal best time of 1:06.92 in the 400. Auer also recorded a jump of 4.86 (15-11.5) in the long jump.

 

Senior thrower Ramaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Ca./Hoover High School) recorded throw of 34.62 meters (113-7) in the hammer throw. Atuatasi recorded a personal best throw of 26.74 meters (87-9) in the discus.

 

The team of Anthony, Meriweather, Auer and Meghezi recorded a time of 4:44.77 in the 4x400 meter relay.

 

The Lady Hornets return to action next Saturday, April 18th at 10 am at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Culver-Stockton.
