EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University women's track and field team competed at the the American Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship at SIUE in Edwardsville on Wednesday. The Lady Hornets placed fourth with 22 points.

Freshman sprinter Tijaria Anthony placed third in the 100-meters in a personal best time of 12.68. Anthony recorded a personal best in the 200-meters with a time of 27.26 to finish fourth. Anthony's third and final personal best was in the long jump with a jump of 4.94 meters (16-2.5) to finish fourth. Anthony finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.06 meters (33-0.25).

Senior thrower Ramaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Calif./Hoover High School) recorded a personal best in the discus with a throw of 27.81 meters (91-3). Atuatasi also recorded a throw of 34.78 meters (114-1) in the hammer throw.

Sophomore sprinter Emma Auer (Kindberg, Austria/HIB Liebenau) was seventh in the high jump with a personal best height of 1.40 meters (4-7). Auer recorded a leap of 4.57 meters (15-0) in the long jump. Auer finished the 400-meters in 1:08.73.

Freshman sprinter Amyla Meriweather recorded a time of 1:08.58 in the 400-meters.

Freshman thrower Syain Washington recorded a throw of 26.13 meters (85-9) in the hammer throw. Washington also recorded a throw of 18.38 meters (60-4) in the discus.

Freshman sprinter Nyla Richardson-Myles recorded a height of 1.35 meters (4-5) in the high jump.

The team of freshman sprinter Sherasade Meghezi (Paris, France), Anthony, Richardson-Myles and Meriweather recorded a time of 53.99 in the 4x100 meter relay.Â

Anthony was the Lady Hornets selection to the Champions of Character team which includes one player from each school, selected by their coach and teammates as the individual who best exemplifies the Five Core Values of the NAIA Champions of Character® Initiative – Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, Integrity and Servant Leadership.
