ST. LOUIS – It is a great day to be a Hornet! The 2022 men's basketball season is swiftly approaching. Among the usual American Midwest Conference foes are several non-conference opponents.
The Hornets will host Philander Smith College on October 29th, which also serves as one-half of Homecoming 2022. Fans may want to catch the men in action on the 29th because they will not return home until December 6th when they host Southeastern Illinois College at 7:30 pm.
Included on the schedule of opponents for November are Crowley's Ridge College, SIU Edwardsville, UT-Martin, Lincoln University (MO), Pittsburg State University, and Kentucky Wesleyan. Also, the Hornets will return Philander Smith trip and will also face AMC opponent Hannibal-LaGrange.
The temperature outside may be dropping in St. Louis in the month of December, however, Harris-Stowe will be blazing the court, handling business. HSSU will face Lyon College, Crowley's Ridge, Fontbonne University, Williams Baptist University and the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy.
After the winter break, the Hornets will be in the thick of the conference season but there will be a couple non-conference competitions in January. The team will face off against Iowa Wesleyan and Webster University.
Head Coach Michael Cook stated, "I am excited about our non-conference schedule, this gives us an opportunity to compete against top competition to get better but also, to help us build and brand the program for the future."
