ST. LOUIS – The Harris-Stowe men's basketball defeated the Spartans of Missouri Baptist, 76-69 in an amazing display of athletic abilities.
The Hornets displayed tenacity and sheer determination in both halves of the contest, however the second half showed a team digging deep to gain the victory. MBU edged into the locker-room with a slight advantage of 36-33, however, HSSU emerged energetic and ready for battle.
Ken Martin's double-double definitely made a difference for the Hornets as he completed the contest with 18-points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Alex Nunnally continues have explosive performances for the Hornets, as he tallied 19-points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal. O'Bray Rufus' lightening quick reflexes were on full display as he scored 12-points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists to propel the Hornets to victory. Taj Toney also tallied 12-points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Harris-Stowe will return to action on January 14th at 3:00 pm, when they host Central Baptist College in the Emerson Performance Center.
