BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University women's track and field team competed at the Titan First Chance Meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Friday evening.
Freshman sprinter
Tijaria Anthony placed sixth in the 60-meters preliminary round in 8.11 seconds and finished seventh in the 60-meter finals in a time of 8.15 seconds. Anthony ran the 200-meters in 28.04 seconds to finish ninth. Anthony also recorded a jump of 4.50 meters (14-9.25) in the long jump.
Freshman sprinter
Ja'Princia McDonald finished the 200-meters in 28.53 seconds while running a time of 1:09.88 in the 400-meter.
Freshman thrower
Shyla Reid recorded a throw of 9.74 meters (31-11.50) in the shot put to finish ninth. Reid also recorded a throw of 11.65 meters (38-2.75) in the weight throw to finish ninth.
Freshman sprinter
Amyla Meriweather ran the 400-meters in a time of 1:15.26 and the 800-meters in 3:08.20.
Freshman sprinter
Sherasade Meghezi (Paris, France) ran the 200-meters in a time of 30.49 seconds and the 400-meters in 1:16.59.
Freshman sprinter
Nyla Richardson-Myles recorded a time of 30.59 seconds in the 200-meters. Richardson-Myles recorded a time of 11.69 seconds in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles.
Freshman thrower
Syain Washington recorded a throw of 8.67 meters (28-5.50) in the weight throw.
Junior sprinter
Julia Tofane (Montes Claros, MG, Brazil/Central Wyoming CC) recorded a time of 32.00 seconds in the 200-meters and a time of 1:10.71 in the 400-meters.
The Lady Hornets return to the track on Friday, January 16th at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The time has yet to be determined.Â
