MARION, Ind. - Harris-Stowe State University women's track & field team competed at the IWU Midwest Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday.
Junior sprinter
Alicia Robinson (Grand Rapids, Mich.) ran a personal record in the 60-meter dash preliminary round in a time 7.92 seconds. Robinson followed it up with another personal record in the 60 meter finals in 7.91 seconds to finish second. Robinson ran a personal record 26.28 seconds in the 200-meter dash to finish second. She also finished third in the long jump with a jump of 5.13 meters (16-10).
Senior sprinter
Shamari Long (Chicago, Ill.) ran a personal record in the 60-meter dash in 8.30 seconds. Long also finished 15th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 28.50 seconds.
Freshman thrower
Saniya Thomas recorded a personal best throw in both the weight throw and shot put. Her mark in the weight throw was 10.79 meters (35-5) and 8.72 meters (28-7.25) in the shot put.
Junior thrower Remaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Calif./Hoover) recorded a throw of 9.85 meters (32-4) in the weight throw.
The Lady Hornets return to action next Saturday, February 8th at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill. at 10 am.
