Women's Track Breaks Two School Records

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's track and field team competed at the Billiken Invite hosted by Saint Louis University on Saturday.

Junior sprinter Alicia Robinson (Grand Rapids, Mich.) recorded a new personal best and school record in the 200-meter with a time of 25.15 seconds. Robinson ran 12.33 seconds in the 100. Robinson recorded a leap of 8.94 meters (29-4) in the triple jump.

Freshman thrower Saniya Thomas recorded a school record in the shot put with a throw of 9.22 meters (30-3) Thomas recorded a personal best in the hammer throw with a throw of 37.15 meters (121-10) and the javelin with a throw of 21.47 meters (70-5).

Senior thrower Damajee Brown recorded a throw of 43.34 meters (142-2) in the hammer throw.

Senior sprinter and jumper Shamari Long (Chicago, Ill.) ran 13.17 seconds in the 100, finished the 200 in 27.59 seconds and recorded a throw of 32.08 meters (105-3) in the javelin.

The Hornets return to action next Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th at the Southeast Missouri State meet in Cape Giradeau, Mo. with Friday beginning at 3:30 pm and Saturday at 11 am.
