LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Harris-Stowe State University women's track and field team competed at the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Indoor National Championships on Saturday hosted by Kentucky State. The Lady Hornets finished fourth with 40 points in the small schools division.
Junior sprinter and jumper
Alicia Robinson (Grand Rapids, Mich.) won the long jump with a leap of 5.27 meters (17-3.50). Robinson was fourth in the 200-meter dash in a season's best 26.13 seconds. Robinson finished fifth in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash in 7.93 seconds and fifth in the finals in 7.94 seconds.
Senior thrower
Damajee Brown recorded a personal best in the weight throw with a throw of 13.70 meters (44-11.50) to finish second.
Senior sprinter
Shamari Long (Chicago, Ill.) finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in a season's best 28.23 seconds. Long finished eighth in the 60-meter dash in 8.31 seconds to qualify for the finals. In the finals, Long ran 8.33 seconds to finish eighth.
Junior thrower Remaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Calif./Hoover) finished fourth in the weight throw with a personal best throw of 11.92 meters (39-1.25). Freshman thrower
Saniya Thomas finished fifth in the weight throw with a throw of 10.62 meters (34-10.25).
The Lady Hornets return to action for their first outdoor meet of the season next Saturday, March 15th at the CMU Open at Central Methodist in Fayette, Mo. beginning at 10 am.
